Manager Engineering Advanced Design
Qualification/Experience
Engineering Degree in mechanical, aeronautical engineering
10 years working experience in Aviation business
Experience in management of people leading function more than 3 years
Management qualification preferable
Description/Tasks
- Comply with the company Part 21 approval and the Safety policy, customer requests and other airworthiness requirements.
- Understand and ensure that all documented company processes and procedures are carried out within your respective field of work. Ensure that your actions do not work against any other documented company processes or procedures. Be aware of and support the main activities and processes of your internal customers.
- Simplify and process all work requirements to maximise effective working
- Be a proactive, forward thinking individual that works to the best of his/her abilities to achieve personal goals, leading to the agreed team and company performance. Respect and adhere to the company hierarchy.
- Maintain a professional and personal ownership of working standards, personal presentation and tidiness of your own immediate working area and the surrounding area for the greater company team.
- When workload dictates or when requested by Management assist in other job roles that are identified as suitable to your skills of job grade.
- Lead, develop and motivate the team through positive leadership, communication, coaching and mentoring ("On The Job" training). Performance manage all individuals to ensure effective and efficient working. Carry our performance appraisals.
- Allocate work, set targets and monitor the work performed against those targets. Targets could include individual, project, team, departmental and/or company performance indicators.
- Simplify and process all personal and team work requirements to maximise effective working whilst adhering to the company standard.
- Have available a team that is suitably skilled and competent in the capabilities required by the company to complete the allocated tasks.
- The Manager Engineering Advanced Design directs and coordinates the staff within his
sub-department and is responsible for the accomplishment of the following main tasks:
- Accomplishment of preparatory work for future projects without impacting current work:
Support Sales and Key Account Management,
Data Acquisition,
Initial Decompression Analysis,
Top Level Layout,
Initial Weight and Balance Analysis,
Early Definition and Involvement of Suppliers and Subcontractors, Make or Buy proposals.
Long Lead Item identification and preparation of orders,
Creation of Specification and Engineering Design package
Early Design Review,
Setting design configuration
Initiating consideration of standardisation, maintainability and sustainability in the design
