Job Description
Lead Design Engineers
The job
AircraftEngineers.co.uk are actively
looking for Lead Design Engineers with 5+ years experience, as per the
Required Skills, for the chance to work for a company across programmes in
support of the required ramp up of the A350 XWB Programme. You will work as
part of a multidisciplinary design team as a permanent employee, deployed onto
one of the current Airbus programmes.
Tasks & accountabilities
As the successful candidate your principal activities will include:
- Create design
solutions for a whole range of tasks from initial concept design through to
supporting A/C in service. - Support on-going
continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods,
process and other capability improvements. - Liaise with
Airbus partners to establish optimum integrated design solutions. - Provide technical
leadership and approval for new participants; supply base and other
sub-contracted work. - When required, undertake
appropriate, associated project management tasks. - Working in a
fully 3D digital environment.
Required skills
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and characteristics:
- Substantial
experience within a Design environment preferably within the Aerospace industry
using a broad range of hand and computer based design tools. - Knowledge of
composite materials would be of benefit but not essential. - The ability to
develop and coach less experienced design engineers. - Sound engineering
knowledge of Manufacturing and Design techniques, procedures and practices. - The ability to
work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidiscipline team. - Chartered
Engineer or equivalent. - Signatory Level
or capability within 3 months. - To be a Team
Leader with high regard for both internal and external customers, whilst
maintaining Aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle. - Good
communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving. - Strong level of
English, both written and verbal.
